Mrs. Ri Ra is 30 years old, living in Krang Phdoav Village, Krangyung Commune, Preah Sdach

distric, Prey Veng Province. She married in 1998 with a man who was working as a driver in

Phnom Penh. After she set up a new family she never suspected about her husband sexual

attitude when he go out to working. In 2006 her husband become to serous of illness with

HIV/AIDS and admission for treatment at KOSOMAK Hospital in Phnom Penh, unfortunately

her husband was death and left her two children to look after. Her son has 10 year old and he

study at great 4 in primary school in Phnom Penh, and her daughter she has 8 years old she study

at the first class of primary school. After her husband pass a way she become feeling depressed

and she usually fever, headache, agitation, weakness, and she come to do blood testing and she

have she got HIV from her husband and unfortunately daughter got HIV transmission from her

mother. After Ms. Ri Ra know her self has HIV her look down her self and stay at home do not

go out to meet her relative and neighbor and she look like the mental person, but she has one

relative are PLHIV patient she always provided the comment, good advice for copping our life

barrier or problem and think a lot of children life and future. In 2007 Mrs. Ri Ra were screening

by Home Based Care team (HBCT) and she got counseling for reduce of feeling depression and

she received motivation from her families and relative and she have time to join with Self Help

Group (SHG) for sharing experience on losing and grief, others information, learning in each

others, and especially she have a chance to attended HBC training for got a knowlegde of

Hygiene, How to take care herself and knowing of how to use ARV adherence, after her join

HBC training she were selected as HBC team member and she become to hope and strong for

help team to provided counseling and identify new cases of PLHIVs and suspected people to

access VCCT and OI/ARV services, and to day she and her daughter are taken Anti-retroviral

Therapy (ART). Since the year she join with HBC team she got a lot of food, financial,

sociological, and psychological support to improved of quality of life and got load of micro-

financial for pig raising and to do rice field and she has plan to do chicken raising after got

training of technical chicken raising. In the finalized she would like to thankful to all of you

come to supported her like CHEC HBC Team, families, and relative to make her bright life than

her unexpected occurant.
