Mr. Chhoun Channa Story

Mr. Chhoun Chantha is living in Lek 1 Village, Svay Proteal commune in Sa Ang district,
Kandal province. The real situation showed that he lives in small house with his wife and 4
children. He reported that he and his wife access home Based Care team since 2010 and they
both attend the chicken raising training. After completion of the training, his wife got US$100.00
grant from CHEC livelihood project and he got USD50.00 of loan from HBC team to be the start
up capital for raising chicken.
Up to the end of January, he had sold the chicken at 1 million Riels of income which is around
USD 250. During the staff visit, he said that the living condition of his family is increased and he
is available to support his children to study at school.
Mr. Chhoun Chantha said that he has plan to ask to HBC team for support the loan to him for
extend his business in raising chicken and he hope that his family will increase income in the
future. He currently received USD 2 support for transportation cost to access ARV service and
USD 1 for attending the Self Help Group meeting every month. His children could get school
materials and emotional support for attending schooling. HBC teams provided counselling and
home visit to him and his family regularly. He thanks to CHEC and donors for support his life.
He can take care of his old mother and his family.
